I think the main reason he is still around is because no one and I mean NO ONE wants little head jed to lead another coaching search.

Which just makes you wonder why in the hell he has been allowed to keep his job for so long.

Yeah its Vazquez that wins games for MD. Gary Williams has nothing to do with it.

I think his body of work clearly suggests he is a below average head coach. This season was going well, but another long losing streak has occurred.

In normal circumstances, Sid clearly would be fired. But unfortunately at NC State, we never have normal circumstances. I still have no idea who Jed survived. He had to be replaced last year.

His body of work is dismal to be kind. What do you mean Update by normal circumstances? Are you referring to the AD's office which is run like Mchales Navy or some other circumstances.

Lowe is a top caliber coach. Only great coaches finish 10th or below every year. People need to realize at State that it takes until the recruiting class in your 5th year are juniors or seniors before a coach really needs to start finishing in the middle of the conference. I can't believe some of the people here with such lofty expectations. Come on, don't you think it's unrealistic to finish in the middle of the conference in the first 5 years?

5-11,4-12,6-10,4-10 I would say that is well below average!

I have to say yes he is. Too many times in the game in which we go 6+ minutes without scoring a basket. That's coaching. A coach should be able to call a time out, setup a play and get at least one or two baskets in a 6+ minute span. The Pack has had too many of those time this season costing us several games. I like Sidney and wish he could turn it around, and I know that Javy doesn't help us at time when he gets WAY out of control, but still, he has to be able to call time-out and set the offense. And I just don't see it. What a season that could have been....

My comment on the main board will suffice here. The gist was Sid was ill prepared for what he was hired to do. That is our fault, and now we reap the reward for poor judgement. NC State as a University, as an Atheletic Administration, as the WPC, we as Alumni, should all be characterized as "below average" for allowing the situation to have begun in the first place.

In whichever group we reside, it is because of our lack of action that we find ourselves right where we belong. How sad.

Get rid of Fowler asap ,let the new AD get rid of Sid and bring in his own coach. No AD worth his grain of salt would leave Sid as coach.

    Let's face it.
This season Sid is definately above average!

Despite not having a clue he managed to tie with the winninest active NCAA coach for 9th in the conference.
When you consider that the other coach always had a minimum of 4 McD's AA available to him at every game you must admit that Sid has done more with less.

In addition Sid is making his 4th straight post season appearence this Thursday and has completed his 2nd straight winning regular season.

And for all those that said we'd finish DFL, well take this and smoke it: we ended up in a 3 way tie for 9th certainly beating expectations of the sports writers who picked us DFL! Those clowns don't know jack!

Oh, and I have no idea what a guy like Sid could have said these high ranked recruits to get them to come to State but hey, give him credit. Based on his track record if you can talk some top 50 recruits to come play for you then I'll tip my hat to you Mr. Sid!
